Robbery Police Kill Two Suspected Armed Robbers

Men of the Rivers State police command yesterday killed two suspected armed robbers, who were fleeing after an attack at Etohu community in Eleme local government area of Rivers State. This is as the Rivers State government has blamed the rising state of insecurity in the state to the frequent redeployment of commissioners of police out of the state.
The police in a statement issued in Port Harcourt by its image maker, Ahmad Muhammad, said other members of the gang escaped with gun shot wounds. The statement reads in part, “Today 13/01/2016 at about 03:30 pm, police patrol team were informed of an armed robbery taking place at filling station along East-West Road by Etohu, the policemen stormed the scene while the suspects were fleeing and gave them a hot chase. “A gun duel ensued, in the process two of the robbers were fatally wounded while others fled with gun shot wounds after they were over-powered by the overwhelming fire power of the police. The area is right now under intense combing with a view of arresting the fleeing armed robbers. One (1) AK-47 rifles and (12) rounds 7.62 of live ammunition were recovered from the hoodlums.”
